Lets do something different around the beaches of Algarve

Everyone loves swimming and laying on the beaches, but if you like admiring beaches with their rocky characteristics from cliff tops, you should read this!

Last leg of the hiking trail - in Lagos

Lagos:
Lagos is known to have the best beaches in the Algarve region, and indeed they were gorgeous! I took a taxi from my last destination Praia dos Três Irmãos to Praia Dona Ana.

From Praia Dona Ana to Farol da Ponta da Piedade (3 km)

The cliff trail from Praia Dona Ana to Praia do Camilo is closed, so I took the main road (10 min walk) to get to the beach - Praia do Camilo

Then continued the hike from Praia do Camilo further. This is looking back at Praia do Camilo

Finally, went back to one of the lovely secluded beach I found on the way, took a dip and rested my legs and then got a taxi from here to the bus station and headed to Lisbon for my onward journey...

Or, you can get a bus back to Faros airport for an as late as possible flight (so its totally doable over a weekend during the LONG summer days) or you can spend an extra day in Lagos and take a boat trip to the world famous sea caves in the Benagil area (I did that during my last visit, and its totally worth visiting at least once!)

I have seen many different beaches and every time I go to a new beach there is a new feeling for me. There is an excitement and relaxation when you are having exotic beach to spend time.

Excellent info.
We have been reading as much as can about hiking along the cliff tops as we are not beach people.
Your site has confirmed some great spots for us to check out and has given great info for putting the distances into perspective to plan our days.
Great posting.!!!

Cheers
James
