Three days long weekend itinerary for Malta

A detailed break down on how to 'do it all' in Malta

Three power packed days in Malta

I have the FOMO syndrome - fear of missing out. So, when I plan something I have to make sure that I get everything covered. So, after considering all that I wanted to do in Malta, 3 days long weekend trip seemed fair. So, me and my friend booked tickets 2 months in advance. And our plan was to cover all the interesting places in Malta, and also spend some decent swim hours in the island of Comino, and also head to the island of Gozo and see the highlighted locations there.

We skimmed Sliema and St. Julian's on our 1st night upon arrival, and there is not much to see around, except for the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Sliema, and some crazy bars to party in St. Julian's.

We covered the itinerary with a hired car (all thanks to my best friend who could drive). But, if I was doing this alone, I would keep an extra day (4 days instead of 3) and take the well connected (but not so punctual) buses in Malta.

Note: Malta follows UK conventions - driving rules and power adaptors!

Fun fact - for those who don't know, Malta was the Games of Thrones location for Season 1, after that due to issues with the government, they moved their location to Croatia.

Thank you for stating the fact that Malta is where the season 1 of Game of Thrones was shot because I am a huge fan of it and it looked familiar on the photos you took. I have never been in Malta, but I always wanted to go there and enjoy a relaxing swim. I also love to plan things out ahead of time because I don't want to leave without making sure that I have everything that I will need and everything that I might need in case of emergencies. Looks like I'll be needing to work even harder so that I can take that vacation. I'll be seeing you soon Malta.
